From July 6 to 10, Geneva served as the host city for a series of events attended by Beatriz Busaniche on behalf of Vía Libre: the UN Global Dialogue on AI Governance, the WSIS Forum 2026, and the International Telecommunication Union’s AI for Good Summit.
On July 5th, as a side event, we joined the session ‘Feminist AI Innovation from the Global South: From Community to Global Governance Commitments.’ Designed to bridge local insight and international policy, the session focused on translating evidence and innovation from Global South communities into actionable governance priorities, draft policy language, and implementation frameworks for Member States and key actors in ongoing AI governance negotiations and digital policy processes.
Reflecting on the UN Global Dialogue on AI Governance, Beatriz Busaniche published a report summarizing the first day’s discussions. These sessions centered on the launch of the ‘Interim Report of the Independent International Scientific Panel on Artificial Intelligence‘—a foundational text drafted by 40 global experts that anchored the week’s debates.
