Class Summary
We held Class 2 on June 8, where we began reflecting on artificial intelligence and its presence in our daily lives. We started by discussing participants’ existing knowledge and analyzing what common elements exist across different AI-based applications and solutions, particularly focusing on how datasets impact the prediction criteria of current AI systems. We then suggested participants test and analyze various AI applications (you’ll find a table with these examples in the presentation below), examining each one’s intended purpose, inputs, and outputs. The goal was to recognize the wide range of tasks where AI is present, and to understand generative AI as one specific subfield.
We introduced the concept of language models and their current impact, acknowledging that these models can hallucinate. Finally, we explored biases and stereotypes present in language models like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot.
